About Us

Main Dish operates as an "Easy Meal Prep" kitchen and has been serving the Southeast Texas area since 2006. Easy Meal Prep is an industry that is popular among women, families and empty-nesters. It is not a new concept. There are a large number of meal prep kitchens operating in the US and they don't all do business the same way.

We are proud to be a locally owned business, not a franchise. There is a difference -- we customize our menus according to regional tastes. Our customers are asked regularly to survey entrees and we use that information to create menus with you in mind. Your money stays here in the community. We even buy ingredients and supplies locally so that other businesses benefit from our presence here.

Our team of prep chefs and staff take pride in the work that is done to produce the highest quality product on the market. They know they are helping to provide for the needs of your family and food safety, taste quality and the overall experience is their #1 priority Our kitchen prepares fresh food everyday for our clients. We really do it the way you would prepare it at home, if you had the time- except we prepare large quantities for many customers daily. There is no easy way to produce delicious food. It takes a capable staff, great recipes and high quality ingredients. Those things are difficult to find these days. That is why most restaurants buy pre-prepped ingredients that are heavily preserved and are not the healthiest option for your family. We have a fully equipped commercial kitchen. Everything is made right here. When we need to sauté onions, make a sauce or brown meats, we do so on site. We do not rely on pre-prepped food that is heavily preserved. We even cut our own meats. Once you have tasted our food, you will agree that we give you the highest quality product we can offer. We don't cut corners and that is why our clients rave about our food.

About The Owner

Main Dish is proud to be a woman owned business. Tabetha Franklin is a native of Southeast Texas and is married to Danny Franklin. They have two children, Austin and Faith.

The idea to open a business came from an article Tabetha read about the new easy meal prep kitchens that were opening across the country and how they were a lifesaver for mom's everywhere who struggle with putting family meals together when they are so busy. She could relate to the dilemma that women face at dinnertime whether they are working professionally or staying in the home--- because she had done both and always found it difficult to pull dinner together every night.

She began using a meal prep kitchen out of the area and wanted to open one in Southeast Texas. With her husband's support, she set out to create what she thought would be a good fit in our region. A friend joined her in the beginning of the venture and it was nice having a partnership to get the business organized and streamlined. Tabetha has continued to operate the kitchen as the sole owner since 2007.

Her goal is for everyone to be able to have more quality time together around the dinner table and have a healthy option in the freezer to enjoy on any given night. She continues to grow her business and hopes to open future kitchens. She is dedicated to helping you solve the problem of "What's for dinner?”
